Emil Tow

Emil works with a wide range of people of different ages with acute injuries through to complex and chronic conditions. He has a special interest in hypermobility / EDS and POTS, as well as treating the (often) unusual injuries seen in gymnastics, circus arts, and performing artists!

Emil is available for appointments at our Malvern and Glenelg clinics.

  • Qualification: Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy (completing Masters of Sports Physiotherapy)
  • Masters of Physiotherapy; Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology)
  • Extra Studies: EDS Echo program; Temporomandibular Disorders (Guy Zito); GEMt Dry Needling Level 1; Explain Pain (NOI Group)
  • Memberships: Australian Physiotherapy Association; APA Sports and Exercise Group

Emil grew up in Canberra, where as a teenager, he trained and competed in gymnastics. It was here that he gained a lot of early experience and interest in the human body, exercise, and injuries (his own). Expanding on this, Emil studied physiotherapy at the University of Canberra, and worked at a sports clinic for a number of years. Following this, he tried out city life in Melbourne for several years, before relocating to the beautiful Adelaide Hills in 2021.

Emil has worked solely in musculoskeletal and sports private practices, as well as with a range of sporting teams and at national sporting competitions, including Soccer, Basketball and Cricket teams, and at the National Gymnastics Championships.

His previous experience as a gymnast came in handy during his time in Melbourne, where he worked with circus students as a physiotherapist at NICA (National Institute of Circus Arts). This experience in particular sparked an interest in the management of hypermobility and EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome).

In addition to his Masters studies, Emil has undertaken extra training for the treatment of neck and back pain, and TMJ (jaw) dysfunction (such as clicky, locking or painful jaw). He is able to use Dry Needling where appropriate, in addition to hands-on treatment, and exercise prescription. He has developed his knowledge of hypermobility disorders and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) via the EDS Echo program and POTS Unmasked conference, and he sees a large number of clients with hypermobility spectrum disorder / hypermobile EDS.

Outside of work, Emil enjoys exercise, cooking, and performing / teaching improvised theatre. He is trying to get better at gardening, though spends the majority of this time weeding. He enjoys playing piano and encouraging his little 6 month old daughter to play the keys, too, which she does with great enthusiasm and volume.

You can see Emil at Move for Better Health’s Malvern clinic and Glenelg clinic.

Jason Bassani

Jason is a Physiotherapist who can see people experiencing muscular or joint pain and injuries. Jason particularly enjoys treating people with sporting injuries, such as tendon conditions, and also has an interest in working with people undergoing orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation to help them retain the ability to do what is important to them.

Jason is available to see clients at Glenelg for assessments and a number of equipment classes.

Qualification: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), Bachelor of Health Sciences (Exercise Science & Physiology)
Membership: Australian Physiotherapy Association
Achievements: University of Adelaide – School of Health Sciences Valedictorian
Jason’s introduction to Physiotherapy was on the receiving end of treatment and rehabilitation during his time playing basketball growing up. This experience culminated into an interest in the human body and movement-based practices. This eventually led to his passion for sporting injuries and the rehabilitation process. His growing interest in how the human body works was then coupled with the passion for helping people get back to, as well as maintaining, the ability to do the things they enjoy and that are important to them.

Since then, Jason studied a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Exercise Science & Physiology) in which he also achieved the title of Valedictorian for the School of Health Sciences. Jason then went on to complete a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). After completing his studies, Jason has gained a wide range of professional experience by working in private practice, orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, as well as working with sporting clubs such as Norwood Football Club, Queensland Netball for Men and Women, as well as the Adelaide University Gridiron team. Jason has also been engaged in the community when he is able, including being the volunteer physio at the Memorial Drive Tennis Club 2023 Open!

When he’s not at work, you might find Jason playing basketball, learning a new skill, or satisfying his sweet tooth!

You can see Jason at our Glenelg clinic. To book, give us a call on (08) 8295 1294, or you can book online here.

  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master of Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Sports)
  • Memberships: Australian Physiotherapy Association (Sports & Musculoskeletal groups), International Association of Dance Medicine
